Translations and Publishing
The largest barrier to adequate knowledge of the methods and modalities of social work practice is language. Because most social work texts are written in English, non-English speakers are faced with the added challenge of understanding course material in higher education.
BPSW is committed to making social work literature more accessible to students of social work, human service workers, and students in related disciplines.
The availability of translated social work texts also serves as an educational tool for the general public, allowing a lay audience to understand more fully the profession's approach to alleviating social problems.

The Social Work Desk Reference, edited by Roberts and Greene, (2002) printed in English by Oxford University Press in New York, and translated by BPSW into Bahasa Indonesia in two volumes.
The Indonesian title of this book is BUKU PINTAR: Pekerja Sosial
This work was selected by our four-person translation team of social welfare faculty because of its broad range of theoretical and practice approaches and its relevance to current Indonesian social work practice. The first volume was released in March 2008 and has nearly sold out. The second volume translation was released in June 2009.
